Yufei Gao: Sonata No.1 in C Minor (C as in Ceramic)
As a guitarist(a shoegazer to be specific), soldering effect circuits is one of my joys.
Naturally when I first noticed the sound and tone of the ceramics, I immediately thought of the effects that would bring more out of the sound of it.
In this project I’m trying to integrate the two, audio effect circuits and clay, to materialize the vision I had at first hearing. With the built-in circuits, it generates tones from clean glassy sound to otherworldly distorted noisescape.
Everything in the acoustic part is made of ceramics, the essential part of the pickups I used is also made of ceramics, piezoelectric ceramics.
